Elaine Collins
Elaine is a disabled performer who recently had work commissioned for DaDaFest and received Arts Council funding for the R&D of her work. She is a part of the performance group DDDivas who have been supported by The New Wolsey theatre. Elaine also received a bursary from Graeae to participate on their Graeae Beyond programme.
As a school child, Elaine met Margaret Thatcher and sang Somewhere Over the Rainbow to her in a choir. Elaine was also in the final 10 for the Spice Girls, and released her own song with React Records named Pictures in the Mind, alongside Godfather of Nu Energy, D.J Blu Peter. It reached Number 9 in the UK Independent charts, under her alias Akira.
