Hugo von Fragstein

Hugo is a Birmingham-based actor originally from Derby who trained at Year Out Drama and the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. After graduating he went on to perform in stage productions throughout the UK and abroad, from Shakespeare to Musical Theatre, and is a recipient of the Laurence Olivier Bursary Award. Hugo’s love of physical theatre grew into an interest in physical comedy, which he developed through workshops and study, co-writing the play Clowns.

Theatre credits include Only Fools and Horses (The Cut Productions); Twelfth Night (Tread the Boards); Clowns (DD Arts); Sleeping Beauty (Little Wolf, The Core); George Farquhar: A Migrant Life Reversed (Bloomsbury, The Jazz Bar); and Lord of the Flies (Matthew Bourne’s New Adventure).

Hugo plays the piano, writes songs as well as poetry, which he performs at local scratch nights. When not pursuing creative endeavours he enjoys bouldering, watching Anime, and playing D’n’D.
